Brendan Flannery is an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He completed his PhD in Epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley. His work focuses on the prevention of respiratory diseases, including Hib and pneumococcal infections. He has experience with public health emergency responses (including SARS), respiratory disease outbreak investigations, surveillance systems and scientific research. Prior to entering the field of public health, he spent three years teaching secondary school in Namibia with the Peace Corps.
